Scope

The International Workshop on Surface Physics was started in 2003 and is intended to continue the International Seminar on Surface Physics organized by the Institute of Experimental Physics of the University of Wroclaw since 1976.

The workshop would enable reviewing the current state of research in the field. Discussion on that state as well as suitable monograph lectures by scientists of great experience and prestige would show perspectives and the most probable paths of progress suitable for this local community. The Workshop planned on September 2013 is the sixth one. Former, the 5st Workshop on Surface Physics was organized in Lądek-Zdrój in 2011 and the subject concerned surface and nanostructures.

The scientific program of the oncoming workshop will be devoted to Functional Materials, with the main topics including:

  • molecules on surface - motion and functionality
  • superstructures on surfaces - properties and applications
  • nano-devices
  • functionalized organic and biomaterials on surfaces
  • physical characterization of nanosystems.

No parallel session are planned and, as usually, the informal atmosphere of the meeting will allow all participants to contribute to stimulating and fruitful discussions and exchange of ideas during and after oral and poster presentations.
